Keynote Speaker:
E. Steven Emanuel, State of New Jersey CIO
On November 17, 2011, the State of New Jersey named E. Steven Emanuel to serve as it's Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Mr. Emanuel coordinates New Jersey's statewide information technology strategies and policies. He also oversees the State's Office of Information Technology (OIT), including the Office of Emergency Telecommunications Services (OETS/9-1-1) and assumes all the responsibilities of New Jersey's Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Emanuel is well familiar with the concerns of public safety having served for 18 years on two township volunteer fire departments, attained Certified Rescue Technician status and currently serves as an Emergency Medical Technician / Ambulance operator for Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company, Howard County, MD. He holds a B.S. degree in Sociology and Criminology.
A native of Teaneck, NJ, Mr. Emanuel has had a varied background. He's worked in the Insurance Industry, the Nuclear Power Plant at Oyster Creek, he's even worked on the railroad as a director for Amtrak.
He will speak on various state efforts affecting public safety such as the state-wide P-25 radio system, wireless broadband and Next Generation 9-1-1. When accepting this speaking engagement he stated to us "I'd like this to be a good dialog". It will be an outstanding introduction and we can look forward to a varied and interesting exchange about ideas in our home state that will have a direct effect within our profession. For New Jersey public safety communications professionals, this is MUST ATTEND event.
